Saving Money with coupons & discounts

Who doesn’t love saving money? There are so many ways to do it. In this economy we could all use a little help. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Saving Money with Coupons

Using coupons is a great way to save money. My niece is a couponing pro. She goes to the grocery using tons of coupons, and pays a fraction of the total bill before discounts. She gives the rest of us cat food, baby wipes, and more that she has paid almost nothing for.

I’m not completely clear on all that she does, but maybe she’ll guest blog some time and explain it. She did, however, give me a link where she gets a lot of her coupons:  http://couponfleamarket.com/. I have a request in to see if someone from that website will do asaving money guest blog on the best way for saving money with coupons. My problem is that I live in a rural area and the shopping centers that double coupons are pretty far away. I have to get some great deals to make the trip worth it to me.

Hobby Lobby is a store that I absolutely love! There is always a coupon on their website for 40% off any non-discounted item. They’ll take the discount off of the highest priced non-sale item. You can print the coupon or pull it up on your phone so they can see the coupon code at the register. Remember, they’re closed on Sundays!

Saving Money with Discount Cards

A lot of stores have discount cards, like Kroger and IGA. Download coupons and offers to your Kroger card to be taken off at the cash register, not to mention the discounts you receive at the gas pump! Dollar General also offers digital coupons. As well as the coupon, most of the time your receipt from DG has a $5 off on $25 purchase to be used later. BTW, I get most of our health and beauty products as well as milk there. They usually have better prices than most stores, at least in my area.

Many places offer senior discounts as well. I know, senior is a bad word, but many times you’re considered a senior at 50 and up, so it’s not so terrible! Some Goodwill stores have 50% off for seniors on Sundays. Many grocery and retail stores offer days and ways to save money for seniors. Denny’s and other restaurants even have a senior menu.

Another place to check is your utility companies. My electric company is a co-op and I have a discount card good from them for money off certain goods and services in the local area.
